On your phone, Clefdoc uses Apple’s or Google’s built-in scanner to find the edges of the document and correct the perspective. Need to fine-tune? Drag the corners by hand, with a magnifier to help you place them precisely.

Text recognition (OCR) runs directly on the device: with no connection needed in the apps, and in your browser for the web version. The content of your pages is never sent to any server.

Privacy: where does your data go?
The papers we scan are often sensitive: ID cards, payslips, prescriptions, contracts. Clefdoc is designed to keep them in your hands.
Only where you send it
A document leaves Clefdoc only if you export or share it yourself, and only to the destination you choose.
Payments handled by Apple and Google
Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment data, only the sales reports provided by the stores. Your purchase is verified on your device.
Good to know
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no cookies: there is nothing to accept.
- On Android, the document scanner relies on Google Play services, which may send technical diagnostic data to Google, in line with Google’s policy. Your images are not transmitted.
- Website and web version: both are hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps technical logs (IP address, browser) to run and secure its network. In the web version, text recognition runs in your browser, with an engine supplied by the website itself: no other service is involved.
- Your device backups (iCloud, Google) follow the settings you have chosen.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. Clefdoc works without signing up: no email address, no password. Your purchases are simply linked to your Apple or Google account.
Does Clefdoc work offline?
Yes. In the apps, scanning, editing, text recognition and exporting all happen on the phone, with no network needed. Only buying and restoring a purchase go through the App Store or Google Play, which require a connection.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you don’t buy anything, your documents remain viewable and exportable: they are neither locked nor deleted. To scan new documents or edit your existing ones, you need the annual subscription or the lifetime purchase.
What’s the difference between the web version and the apps?
The free web version lets you try Clefdoc in your browser, with limited features. The iPhone and Android apps use the phone’s built-in scanner and recognize text offline.
Which languages is Clefdoc available in?
The interface is available in English, French, Spanish and German.
